Here I sit on Christmas Morning

Here I sit on Christmas Morning. Here I sit thinking. I know that I have so many wonderful things in my life. I know that I have the best man anyone could ask for. We have been through so much and have never lost one bit of love for one another. How many people could say that there was never a single reason a couple could have to doubt that they will spend their entire life together. How could I have been given such a great person. What did I do to deserve him. I think that maybe he was sent to me from heaven!

I also think about the 2 wonderful sons that have been given to me. We have a great relationship. I love the fact that we can talk, share feelings, joke, and want to be together as much as possible. I know that they are now grow up and as hard as that is, it is the fact that I have no regrets that have made this growing up thing much easier to handle. I always dreamed of being a mom, I wanted to be there for everything, I was successful and it made my heart complete. Because I was able to live my dream I can never look back and say that I should have done something differently. I will always have the best of memories of the boys growing up.

I now look forward to the next phase in our lives. I am thrilled that Chris is engaged to a wonderful lady, Lindsey. I truly love her as a daughter and want her to be a full part in our lives. I am so glad that we can say that the two of them are wonderful together.

I also look forward to Alex moving in to the next phase of his life as he has just over a year till he graduates college. Where his life will take him no one knows as of yet. I know that we have prepared him well to be independent and successful. Maybe too independent at times but I do believe that will work in his favor with the potential career he may chose.

I am so proud of my 3 guys and can once again say I have no regrets. I can honestly say that as I sit here on Christmas morning I am glad of the gifts of love, happiness and the fact that we can all get along and love being together as much as possible, especially now that the time together is so limited.

So as I sit here on Christmas morning I am grateful for the wonderful husband, sons and the newest addition, Lindsey to our lives.

They are truly all sent from heaven to me!

All my love to Dan, Chris and Lindsey and Alex

Stepping on snakes while chasing goats.

Wow what a session! Today I photographed Jenny on her family farm. As we walked towards the woods I became very excited to see the bright and vivid colors of fall. We had one great shot after another. During our session Jenny would tell me all about the wonderful memories of growing up on the farm. There is one story that stands out to me so I want to share that with you. Jenny told me that one day their goat got out of it's fenced in area. As she was running and chasing the goat trying to capture it she stepped on a snake. She shared with me that as she told her friends this story the friends said "you have a goat?" Well that is not all they have. She has chickens, turkeys, cows, dogs and cats. I am not sure she may have more than that on the family farm. Here is a slide show from her session today. I hope you enjoy the beauty of nature I was experiencing today.

Jenny I had a great time with you and you are absolutely stunning in your images. Thanks for a great day.

Yesterday was great... Here I am at the park to photograph another high school senior. We photographed her in her first outfit and then we began to talk about what other outfits she had. It was to my surprise that one of her outfits was with camo and her bow and arrow. Wow! I was excited. I have never had that as a prop before. We found some tall weeds to photograph. This was a good thing as this was a real bow and arrow and we were not sure if we would get in trouble. You know that could be considered a weapon. I was a bit worried as I wanted to photograph with the arrow pulled back and to shoot straight down the arrow. Well I chickened out because I was afraid... Well here are a few samples. Courtney you were great! I hope you like your images.

Oh My That is Beautiful

Every session has a story. Today's session is no different. I just have to share this one with you. As I was finishing up this session I had my client start to play with her hair. I love this time of the session because we always come up with some of the most beautiful images of the girls. After I shot this group of images I showed the image to her mom on the back of the camera and her expression was priceless. The mom took a deep breath and held her hand over her mouth and said, "Oh my that is beautiful!" Then she proceeded to say, "We are not going to buy that one." It is these images that make the parents realize that their child has indeed grown up. It is funny how until something like this happens we see our children as a child forever. They loved the shots and granted me permission to blog this story. Thanks for a wonderful session today. I had a great time with the both of you.

What a Great Production

I was lucky enough to photograph a great production of Beauty and the Beast that is currently playing at Christ Memorial. Last night was the opening night. They do such a great job. As you view the images below notice how wonderful the costumes are. Christ Memorial has been putting on productions for many years and each and every one is better than the last.

Fall Images

I am looking forward to fall colors again this year. I worry that we may not have the wonderful vibrant colors of last year. Last year was not as hot and we had lots of rain throughout the summer. This year well lets say heat was an issue. While I worry of the possibility of lack of color I do hope I am wrong. Here are a few images of the wonderful images from last year. I am still accepting appointments in September although the weekends are completely full. If you want to be photographed in September and have a day off school or you can miss some time like you would if you have to go to the doctor then please call soon. Remember I do not control the colors I just try to capture them in your images.

I still have a couple os sessions left in October on the weekends although the weekdays have a lot more openings. For the fall colors please call soon! 314-544-7369 All appointments need to be made by phone not email.

Loving My Job!

This morning I sit here to think about the next few days to come. It is the Labor day weekend. This is a time most will be enjoying family and friends at BBQ's, enjoying the last days at the pool before the season is over or camping in the great outdoors.

I, on the other hand, will be photographing many seniors for their personal portrait session. I have a great job that allows me to play in the park with great people that smile at me all day long.

I really enjoy getting to know my clients during the session as well as their parents. It is great to find out what the seniors will be doing with their lives and to find out what their parents do for a living. I have met some of the neatest people.

I will be happy to post some of the image of this weekends sessions early next week so please check back.

If you are reading this article you must be on my blog and would love to hear your comments and to have you click the "follow" tab on the side in order to know who has been visiting.

Thanks so much and have a great and safe holiday weekend.

Todays session--Total success!

Today's session was a great session. I am so pleased that Melissa's mom was able to be there today to enjoy this senior event with her daughter. As a mom myself I was always happy to be able to spend time with my boys on events in their senior year. They grow up so fast. Okay I must admit the other reason that I was happy to have her mom there. It was because as much as we love a nice sunshining day like today, we as photographers would rather have a nice little cloud follow us around to avoid sunspots. Well I put this mom to work to be my little cloud. I want to send her a big thank you for holding my special cloud for me. Some of the shots would not have been possible if it were not for Melissa's mom. Melissa you did a great job and were wonderful in front of the camera. Here is a sneak peek... You are beautiful...

Sharing a passion...

Photography has been a passion for me for as long as I can remember. I am happy to share with everyone that I have been lucky enough to be in the field of photography for over 33 years. The best thing about hiring a photographer with that much experience is that they have learned over time. I have the understanding of photography from before the days of digital as well as experienced the wonderful changes that have brought photography to where is is today.

Sure, anyone can pick up a camera and shoot but I believe that my success in this industry is because of all the Professional Photography organizations that I have been involved in . I have been taught from the best. Because of the professional organizations in this field I have achieved my certification as well as a Master Photographer and Master Artist degree through the Professional Photographers of America.

When someone is trying to chose a photographer I want them to know that I deliver a professional product. I will work with the client from the begining to the end to supply them with the professional product. Professional portraits should be delivered with the quality the client deserves. I am so thankful for all my wonderful and loyal clients. Thanks so much!
